Getting lost in a "sea of thoughts" running through your head? You're not alone. Studies indicate that about 50% of the time our consciousness wanders, hopping between the past and the future, producing thoughts that are unrelated to our reality in time, present. It happens automatically and without us noticing, to almost all of us.
Mindfulness is a mental quality that means observing and directing attention to thoughts, feelings in the body and emotions, in a certain way, from moment to moment and in a non-judgmental way.
Why practice?
Studies show that regular practice of mindfulness and self-compassion (at least 30 minutes a day) allows:
* Quieter consciousness - slow down the automatic flow of thoughts
* Calmer lifestyle - reduce the feelings of stress and tension in daily life
* Mood - Acting out of presence in the present moment improves the mood
* "Listening" - to develop attentive attention to consciousness, body sensations and emotions
* From the pillow to the daily routine - integrate mindfulness in daily activities
